Români aleși în comisiile Parlamentului European

Toate cele 20 de comisii permanente și patru subcomisii ale Parlamentului European  și-au ținut ședințele constitutive marți,  pentru a-și alege președintele și vicepreședinții.

Un birou al comisiei (președinte și până la patru vicepreședinți) este ales pentru un mandat de doi ani și jumătate. Comisiile se ocupă de propunerile legislative, numesc echipe de negociere care să conducă discuții cu miniștrii UE, să adopte rapoarte, să organizeze audieri și să examineze alte organisme și instituții ale UE.

La începutul fiecărei noi legislaturi, Parlamentul European decide din ce comisie parlamentară urmează să facă parte fiecare deputat, în conformitate cu preferințele lor. Această decizie are o importanță fundamentală, întrucât stabilește domeniile în care deputații își vor concentra cel mai mult eforturile. Comisiile parlamentare au un rol esențial în elaborarea politicilor: ele sunt cele care pregătesc poziția Parlamentului, în special cu privire la noile propuneri legislative.

 

 

Procedura legislativă ordinară plasează Parlamentul și Consiliul Uniunii Europene pe o poziție de egalitate. Această procedură se aplică în numeroase domenii de politică, printre care afacerile economice și monetare, imigrația, energia, agricultura, pescuitul, transporturile, mediul și protecția consumatorilor. De fapt, marea majoritate a actelor legislative ale UE sunt adoptate în comun de către Parlamentul European și Consiliul Uniunii Europene.
